Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was an Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. A year later Felix earned her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record taking 200 metres within 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
